Note: there is no import/export feature in SmartMLS Sign. All contacts must be added manually.
When you are on the SmartMLS Sign dashboard, click the Contacts tab in the upper right:
Once the Contacts tab opens, click the New Contact button in the upper right:
At the top of the New Contact window, you have a couple of options:
- Use Individual to add a single person as a contact.
- Use Organization for a contact that represents more than a single individual. For instance, if an LLC is the buyer in your transaction, you can save the contact as an Organization rather than as an individual.
The first field you will encounter is Save to Contacts. This field only applies for instances where you are logged into the system on another user's behalf. In this scenario, you can choose to save the contact in your own contacts list or that of the user you are impersonating:
The majority of the New Contact window is pretty straightforward. There are several required fields (notated by an asterisk):
- First Name
- Last Name
When adding an Organization contact, there are two more required fields (in addition to the three listed above):
- Company
- Title
The phone number field is not required, but it is a good idea to enter the contact's phone number nevertheless. In instances where two contacts are sharing the same email address, the phone number field is used as a unique identifier.
Once you have finished filling out the form, click the Create button in the bottom right.
