How to remove a signer from a signing

If you're starting a signing from a template, you may not need all of the pre-configured fields that are automatically present on the document. For instance, there may be tasks (signatures, initials, etc.) for two sellers on the document, but there is only one seller for the property.

Thankfully, the SmartMLS Sign platform makes it easy for you to remove a signer from a template.

When you are in the Signing Editor, go to the Signing Flow section on the right and click the Edit icon 2023-09-01_13-14-32.jpg next to the appropriate Stage:

Note: clicking the Edit icon 2023-09-01_13-14-32.jpg next to the signer will not remove that role from the signing. It lets you add a different contact into that signer's role, or change the role, but it does not completely remove the role from the signing).

That opens the Edit Stage window. Locate the signer you need to remove (in this example, Seller 2) and click the delete icon 2023-09-01_13-28-22.jpg:

The signer will immediately disappear from the window.

If you have not already done so, you can now proceed to enter the contact information for Seller 1.

After you click Save in the bottom right you'll see the following confirmation:

Clicking Contine brings you back the template and you should see that Seller 2 has been removed:

All fields that were associated with Seller 2 have been removed from the form.
